I didn't grab it and stretch it upwards (it was leaning a bit), but I'd approximate it at about 34". The two most notable traits that strike me the most are the flat and closely held raised ridges that on other thistles are open and held away from the lower section of the blossom, and the very thin brownish spikes in the same area. I haven't noticed these two traits together on any other variety so far. I probably need to get a few more pictures, including the reverse of the leaf and the basal leaves.
