Yes.. Becky.. it was just that heart warming.. in so many ways..
Robyn.. there's lots of ways to set nature loose to perform for us.. it does take alot of daily work..on our part
Sharon. my pleasure...
June... I agree .. it was beautiful
Brenda.. yes.. a work of love.. of the bridge builders.. and the film crew.
using plants grown for their structure has always been a thought of mine.. from the time of Alex Erlandson.. the creator of the tree circus... he used approach grafting to create many living structers.. his is a wonderful.. if heartbreaking story...
I started one in front of a bit of land I had .. where I had apple trees growing in a line.. and their limbs espalliered together... growing/grafted together to make a living fence.. unfortuntely.. I sold the land before the fence was developed enough for the new owner to understand and keep it up.. or maybe it was the labor involved.. but it was removed in favor of lawn.. one of the plantings there survived.. a 10' pile of prickley pear cactus grows with each year. and not a moment of upkeep for them.. unlike the fence..
