I did some gleaning in my truck farmer neighbor's fields before he plowed them under, and now have a lot more tomatoes ripening in the basement. Also got a box of assorted peppers which have mostly been pickled and canned. I canned all of my tomatoes last week, and when I finished I thought of my neighbor's field, so called him to ask. Now the table is full again and a card table as well. That should give me about a dozen more quarts. These are mostly heirlooms.
Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most.
