Thank you all. This year things really got away from me in the weed dept, but I'm well on the way to having it all under control again (keeping fingers crossed). We had to take the bridge arbor down this last winter, in Jan. We had a heavy ice storm that caused so much damage that there was no just fixing it. We are going to try another metal arbor over it with a deciduous vine instead of an evergreen vine. I think it would have been okay if it hadn't been covered in all that greenery from the evergreen Akebia vine.
I really am an impulse buyer, I see something that just grabs me and I have to bring it home. Then I struggle trying to figure out where it will go. But much of what is in my gardens come from trades and starts from friends and family. I started with the bright colors to please my DH. He loves bright colors. Came late in gardening to the joy of orange and purple/blue together. Not sure why I never had orange flowers. But I do now.
The grape room is my little oasis on hot summer days. The dogs love to lay under it also. It really is amazing how much cooler it is under the grape leaves.
Sue I've been watching your photo postings and watching your garden grow. I love the arbors you've been putting in, they are beautiful. I also love your raised beds and paths.
Vicki I don't think you'd get very far eating these leaves. They are pretty fuzzy and I'm sure they are bitter. But boy do they smell like you just opened a jar of Jiff peanut butter. The blooms don't smell like that at all though, they have a wonderful perfume smell.
The succulent wreath was so much fun, thanks the Chris and Linda. Oh and Becky because she had the wreath contest. That was what finally got me into gear. Linda sent me the form, Chris kept showing me her wreaths and making me drool. It all came together.
There is almost always something in bloom here, except for maybe Dec and Jan.
