The focus is in the background so your camera is not focusing on the foreground with the bloom. If your camera has a macro setting (usually designated by a small flower) try that setting and carefully focus on the bloom until it locks focus. Sometimes you have to try from a further distance, if it's too close it may not be able to focus, it depends on your camera.
Plus, the nice thing about digital, you can take tons of shots, deleting what doesn't work! Works for me.
