My A. mollis reached 3'x4' in it's 2nd year. This year it reached about the same size. One peculiarity is the plant seems to take a breather in late June and July followed by a huge burst of new growth starting in mid August. No flowers yet and from what I've discovered it's likely not going to regardless of size. I mulch heavily in winter but according to the MO Botanical Garden site late Spring frost can "...impair or eliminate..." flowering for the season.
