Thanks for all the information about the USVI and the link about the Senepol cattle. I went a step further and read about the development of the breed on the breed association page.

They sound like they would be well suited to the southern states where it is hot and humid for a good portion of the year.

Your growing conditions sound like they could be quite challenging. However, a determined gardener finds a way!
