Lowe's garden center is closed for the season here in my area but nearly all season, once it has been gardening season for a few weeks, they will have a clearance rack where plants are priced at 1/2 or less. Last summer I got a gallon pot of nearly dead Tropicana Canna foliage on some nice size tubers for $.50. In the fall I got 2 Wine and Roses Wegilia and 1 other Wegelia, a Miss Kim dwarf lilac, and some other plants for $.50 each. All in gallon pots. They are doing well. All they needed was some fertilizer in the water or to be planted. The Wine and Roses Wegilia are still in their gallon pots. They weren't pot bound and it was getting late in the season so I just left them in the pots. I still have to figure out just where I want to plant them. biggrin: They are in an unheated room getting lots of sunshine. I keep them watered with weak fertilizer in rain water when I have it and well water when I don't. They have new leaves on them The lilac and other Wegelia are in the ground and appear to be doing well.
