This is something that has needed to be done for a couple of years due to tree roots and poor soil conditions. Also my double box was full of nut grass from a daylily I recieved and did not inspect the root system before planting it. Within two years the nut grass completly covered the box and there was no way I could kill it without killing the daylilies. I have rented one of those large dumpsters and all the soil and extra fans from that box will go to the land fill. I will only keep two fans of each double and make sure there are no nuts before replanting. The green box to the left is the doubles and will be moved over to the bed on the far right, the daylily bed to the right is the other bed to be redone with everything in boxes.
I have removed the daylilies from the bed and ready to move the double box after cleaning up the mess and leveling the ground
Double box in place, ready to be leveled and filled with pinebark and sand.
Had to fill box now because I want be able to get the tractor to it after the other boxes are constructed.
Have layed out where I want the other boxes with plenty of room for walk ways.
Bottom of the south box. 12 x 4 foot with a 40 x 39 inch dog leg.
All the bottoms are done on the three new boxes.
All the boxs are completed and the water system started. All will be painted the same color as the house within the next couple of days. Will add the fertlizer and lime, till everything and start putting the daylilies in today.
Have been working on this for almost a week, should have had Michele and Kim over here and I would have been finished in half the time. Will add more as I get more done.
