Hi Ric, good to see you here.

This is indeed the best time to root cuttings so yes, go ahead and take them. I personally will root in pure perlite or a mix heavy on the perlite.
Be sure to let your cutting callous (I usually leave them for about a week) before planting and do not water until you see leaves develop. Bottom heat is most beneficial.
If your cutting was starting to show an inflorescence this will most likely continue to develop on your rooting stick.
