I think I will even try to WS some tomatoes when it gets closer to spring. Of course, I am planting backup seeds inside too. .

Mtggirl, two years ago I WS some tomatoes later in the Spring and also planted several different tom varieties under lights. In my inexperience with gardening on Cape Cod, I set my UL tom seedlings out too soon--mid-May--and they got wind burned in a cold snap and never recovered. Meanwhile, my stubby but hardy WS tom seedlings came to the rescue and I ended up with a fine crop after all!
Not saying that planting tomato seeds under lights is a bad idea, but since then, I've always WS a few of my favorite varieties as "insurance."
