Very cold here, but no rain or snow. I'm glad you're getting rain, Pegi, if that's what you need. What I really need is sunshine and lots of it!!

I saw some chimes made by using old computer CDs as the base to hang 'trinkets' from. The CD had been spray painted and had holes drilled into it around the edges to thread the fishing line through then it was strung through a bead then tied. So the top of the CD had beads covering the drilled holes and the line knots didn't show. The trinkets that hung from it were different lengths of fishing line that held a few clear glass beads then at the bottom were bigger chunks of colored but clear glass, or maybe plastic. It didn't make much noise, only tinkled when they swayed in the wind.

Another I saw was made from old spoons and forks. The fork at the top hung downward with its prongs bent outward, one way then the other, and from the prongs the lines were tied. I thought the lines would get too tangled like that, not enough space between them because fork prongs are not very long. The other thing I noticed about that one is that the spoons and forks had been hammered till they were flat. It sounded pretty, but like I said, seems like they'd tangle around each other. I'll bet you could find cheap silverware at the dollar store that would bend and hammer easily. Maybe you could also drill holes through the handles for the line.

I kinda like Vic's tin can idea Green Grin!
