I used a similar rootrainer kit from T&M for the first time last year and was very happy with it. The British versions come with a humidity dome. After germination, the dome gets flipped over, the frame sits in the tray, and it works well for bottom watering.

My kit was easy to assemble. I used it to start impatiens.
