Save me some searching, if you would.
Need two very special daylilies -- if I can find the perfect ones, they'll represent my folks in the oval in my front yard, aka the memorial garden (I created it with money from selling the folks' house after they passed).
Dad was a Marine in Korea, had a USMC skunk tattooed on his arm, was called "sweet william" by his AmVet Post's honor guard members (he was in their honor guard even though he was handicapped by a stroke).
Mom collected ducks, her favorite flower was the peace rose, and her grandkids called her "grandma duck."
Are there any daylilies out there called sweet william? Any red/gold ones? I know there are lots of duck daylilies (learned that last week at the cobb county meeting - the duck guy was there, talking about his gorgeous daylilies). But he doens't have one called grandma duck. There's a "mother duck" and a "lady duck" and those are possibilities. But is there a daylily that has the colors of a peace rose?
Discuss amongst yourselves -- I'll be the one listening in.
Thanks!
