YES on the Virus. Stay away from these flowers.
There are a zillion Thai sellers that spring up and disappear just as rapidly. Aside from a few trusted sources you will not know what you will get from them. They can post a picture of anything, and the stick you'll receive won't bloom for another year or so, by which time they have disappeared, or sprung up under a different name....so you'll have no recourse.
