Dear Lucy, Bronze is made from copper and tin that is why they steal war memorials and garden ornaments! You would not leave a Garden ornament on show in a front garden around here as it would be gone overnight.
Every morning on the radio you hear of signalling delays on the railways. This is because the Victorians put in thousands of miles of copper wire in the biggest rail network of the time. Now every night it is stolen and sold as it is worth a lot of money. The passengers complain they cannot get to work as there are no trains and then they are told why! It is impossible to guard every inch of rail track so they can steal what they want!
Regards.
Neil.
