Dear Kathleen, great to hear from you and I hope you and the family are all well? I have not been doing that much since my head had an accident with a wall. The Doctor has stopped me from doing most things apart from cooking and cleaning. The garden suffered a bit over the winter but not too much to worry about. The plants are having a rough time with it being cold one day and warm the next plus drought is our biggest problem! February is the driest recorded ever and I was watering the spring bedding, which is unheard of.
Fancy Erin crossing out the peppers and parsnips, how strange.
Our National Trust and English Heritage were having a running battle with the thieves of garden ornaments and roof metal from ancient houses, but they have mostly given up now, Before if you had an oldish house with lead or a copper dome and it needed replacing you had to do it with the exact materials and crafts that were used when it was built. Now they have had to stop that for as fast as the workmen put it on someone steals it.You wouldn't leave anything out on a farm as that would be stolen and scrapped,
The price of lamb has gone through the roof here due to theft of the animals, and even the Queen has had a whole stock of cattle stolen!
How anyone can go into a Royal estate and get away with taking a herd of Hertfordshire cattle is beyond me.
Cold today and overcast as usual.
Group hug
Neil.
