Sally...well.. if it was in flower in a 1 gal pot.. it's not the season length that's a problem...for me... wonder what it is... surley I gave it enough food .. and it was so strong.. the stalk of the vine was as big around as my thumb...
Hetty... nice sized plant.. I'd like to start that big... I guess it could have been quite old if it was so big... that could surely help my season length...
I did have another problem with it... I planted seeds from two sources... the seeds I got from Jean -Jacques the botanist that lives on Reunion Island.. grew up to be the big vine I mentioned... the other an e-bay stictocardia looked the same for the first few weeks... but never sent out a climbing shoot.. it sat there 5' further down the fence from the other [ same water.. food... sun and exposure ] .. and never got above a foot tall.. all season long... it had the big strong looking leaves as the other .. but all year never left the ground.. just a little bush..
So if they bloom so small... I've got to dig out some GA-3 or some other exotic flowering addatives... I can only imagine they were induced chemically...
I've got a few planted.. only one has come up the first two weeks.. so maybe out of them all.. I'll put one in a shadyer spot.. Thanks
