Hi Chelle,
I water it sparingly in the summer, if at all. I never water it in any other time. Of course our summers are very different than yours. It gets warm but seldom hot for very long. It probably needs more water the first year (that's what I did.), but once it gets established it don't need that much. It's located in full sun. The plant itself is only about 6-8 inches tall and the flowers are 12-16 inches. The flowers are very unusual. I believe mine didn't flower the first year or not very much.
