ge1836...I think the kitties believe if they eat it to the ground that their parents will make it grow back Green Grin!

Ouch on the $6 dollar catnip! Got a short story about my catnip...planted it last year and then late Fall I harvested it to dry as a winter snack for the cats. I left the stock part, which was fairly heavy, and the plant was protected enough through our mild winter that I was able to find small green growth all winter long for a "special" little treat for the cats. Crazy winter!

We have Walkers Low too...the girls still munch on it but prefer the catnip. Sometimes I grab a few snips and bring it indoors to the cats. Our kitties are indoor cats but we have them trained to come outside with us and stay in the yard (most of the time Hilarious! ).

The cages do help...I used to worry about some of my plants during storms and stakes did not always do a good job...and when the plant is full the cage pretty much disappears.
