Jake, I love Prescott. Every furry creature in town is happy that I have taken up rose gardening and dines in my garden when I'm not in it. I've been told this is a great location to grow roses, but I'm not having much luck here except with David Austin roses - the few cultivars that deer, squirrels, javelina, rabbits, voles, pocket gophers, and other sundry garden browsers don't find appetizing.

Another hazard here is yo-yo weather: where 70 degree spring days lure plants out of dormancy, then a winter storm blows through bringing killing frosts that demolish them. Watering is a big deal, too. This year I'm working harder than ever to overcome these obstacles. Maybe I'll get a good photo or two to post here in a couple of months.
When you dance with nature, try not to step on her toes.
