I'm also on team no (or little) lawn. But I also like edged gardens. A couple of years ago I went to a landscaper and scored a lot of left-over paving stones very inexpensively - no cost to the landscaper as the client had bought them; so they were essentially selling them twice. I've used them to edge most gardens. Problem is, they now no longer sell those left-over stones, but use them for small projects themselves. But it's worth checking with local landscapers. You might get lucky.

I already had the professional work done around the oak tree; so tearing it our to make EVERYTHING garden wasn't really an option. Since I installed the stones in 2007, I've not had to edge my gardens at all and having a thin strip of grass defines where to walk.
