We have them here.They arent everywhere. I dont think Polly has them and she lives an hour away.
They are awful and once you see one you wont forget. They eat lily leaves and strip the stalk causing the lily to die.
Larve carry excrament on their backsand appear as dark spots on leaves.
Over the years ( 5 ) I have learned to spray with either Sevin or Bayer Advance. I spray in early spring when lilies are emerging. Beetle larve is active then too.Bayer Advance has a " soft skinned incest icide. Kills 'em good.

I also spot spray with Sevin when I see them on lilies.
