I was one of the first 300 contributors to the plant database! Native Plants and Wildflowers Birds Plumerias Hummingbirder Dog Lover
First try....squirt bottle of water...just looked at me like I was nuts

second try....touched it's tail with my finger...just looked at me like I was nuts

third and successful...found a handy twig and tapped the ground with it by the snake's head. It acted like it wanted back in the run, but I convinced it that that was NOT a safe place to be. The week before D*O*G got and killed a hognose (at least I'm pretty sure) in the run. Ms. Annie kept me company all morning while I raked and trimmed. As you can see from the pics I got very up close and personal...only inches away. Whistling
Each cloud has a silver lineing if only you look for it.
