Tomatoes planted! Started Thusday and got many of them planted and just finished today. All tomatoes planted. 37 in total. Last year I had 15 in ground and another 3 in planters. So this year they are all in ground except for one patio type tomato. I remember the ones in planters last year were planter type tomatoes also but I was very dissapointed with them. So this year am trying (for the first time) the patio tomato. And I have more than twice as many as last year. Really just didn't have nearly enough last year so that is why so many this year.

I had set out and used all my tomato cages. Then I ran out of cages and I still had the six pack of JULIET grape tomatoes to plant. Honestly, didn't feel like spending the money for more tomato cages and besides I wanted to plant them today. So I looked around in the garage to see what I had that I could use. Found some five foot high trellis structures which are taller than cages anyway. Where I am putting them is up against a wooden fence. So after positioning those trellis in a row that means I only had one side (the front) I needed to enclose. I just used some of the 3 foot high decorative green wire folding fencing that I also had and stuck that in front. Problem solved. Tomatoes planted.

My cucumbers are planted also. I only buy one four pack each year but each of those four cell thingies always has multiple plants. This year, three plants in each. I don't take them apart, I just plant each cell and it always works fine. I always have more cucumbers than I know what to do with. But I do love cucumber and tomato salad in the summer.

I am thinking that I just might buy two HUSKEY RED tomato plants and put them in two big planter pots I have here that I could use for some nice determinate type tomato. We will see.
