I remember that the first bloom of the first daylilies that I invested in (meany $$$ at the time) was a two over two.

Might have the pic still on old 3x5 although I doubt I can find it.

Imagine the shock - here I invested in 3 of each cultivar that I chose (remember that old suggestion when buying perennials? --- I went by the book, even with daylilies). They were $25 each!

Then the first highly awaited bloom was an odd ball 2 petals, 2 sepals.

I cried.

But soon recovered when all the other blooms on all the others were fine. And I was hooked!

My first wowsers were HOT TOWN and OUTRAGEOUS which I still love, and a few others no longer with me.

I once did a program at Lilyhemmer on WHAT THE HECK IS THAT? showing oddballs!
