A friend gave this plant to me, and did not know what it was. It was collected from the wild, by my friend, somewhere in the Appalachian area - North Carolina, or north of there. My friend did not know what it was. He lives a couple hours north of me, and it did not overwinter for him. I do get a bit of re-seeding, but not bad at all.

It has grown here for about 10 years. I have it planted in filtered sun, well drained woodsy soil.

I like the foliage - with it's light variegation. If you look at the "older" foliage in these photos, you'll see some spotting/marks on the foliage. The new leaves seem to come out all green, then develop the spotting as they age.

Any ideas? I will have more photos somewhere of it, or can take more, as it is currently blooming, if these photos are not enough to ID.
