This is an interesting feature that doesn't really affect any existing members of ATP, but I did want to let you all know about it.
New visitors to ATP can now login to ATP automatically, without having to create an account here. All they have to do is click on the "Login using Facebook" button. Once they approve the login, Facebook sends all their information to ATP and then an account is created here for them and they are immediately logged in.
If they already have an account here but aren't logged in, then if they click on that button, ATP will search and see if they do have an account here using the same email address as they have on their profile at Facebook. If such an account exists, it then links their two accounts together and logs them in here, and from that point forward they will always be able to login here using their facebook ID.
I don't love Facebook, but this feature does make it more convenient for our casual visitors who might like to login but don't want to go through the hassle of creating an account. I am hopeful that this will increase our membership numbers.
