Hello Jonna, Here is what I do:
1. Soak the seeds for 24 hours
2. You can germinate in soil, soilless mix, or just on a paper towel. Whatever you prefer. You will need to provide high humidity for a good germination and the temperature above 75F
3. I need to agree with Jim: in order to remove the seed cover you need to spay the cover and then gently remove it. You might want to hold the seedling somehow and use a tweezers to finish the job.
In this particular example I used a NAPA product as a soilless mix. I think it illuminates dumping off because no organic stuff. I also will use it to grow these seedlings and see . I think they will be OK and it is cheaper and the pot is lighter then with the soil.

I can give you some seeds and you can try again. You will do it; you just need to try a couple times.

Mike seeds are nothing special, it is open pollinated. I can share with you if you want no problem
