Hi Jo Ann: Well, Strawberry Cream sure isn't a virus. Its probably a minor nutrient imbalance that now been made apparent by (you guessed it) that hot March, followed by a cold frosty April and now a real hot June. Apparently, a lily plant wants to function in a even, steady manner and when there's abrupt changes (like weather, environment, it can't respond fast enough. I've seen that condition from time to time in the past and when I do, I mark the plant. then in the fall when I'm moving stuff around I'll check the bulbs and root systems and they've always looked OK. No sign of any virus and they've been Ok the following Year. Now, others may have more to add--or even disaggree; we'll all learn something.
With Goldenstone; that's iffy. Someone else can make the first call. But, again, I've seen more wierd stuff this year than I've seen in the last ten! More distorted buds and aborted buds, lost of unusual stuff, even a little sport flower on a leaf joint of a Purple Prince. The last five days out of seven have been in the mid 90s with an intense hot sun and a relentless wind; very dry. Really played havoc with color fade and made pollen work almost impossible. So with anything now, I'm abouit to say: "don't make your move too soon"
