Very strange to me as I grow all my begonias are in aquariums so I can keep the humidity up. There are so many different begonias, I just don't think you generalzie that much. One of the Begonias I have I received as a single leaf only. It is growing a root system and will never have a tuber, but it will have a rhizome. So I am wondering which Begonia you have. Is it a cultivar or hybrid? All five of the ones I have are different species.
