I use a Waterproof Laser Label, and print on a laser printer. I place them on eon markers and they last for years. I also have started placing the label on a blank plastic credit card which I punch a hole in and hang from a wire stake. You can even put a picture on the card by making a color laser label picture. One of my friends places the label on the credit card and then glues it onto a eon marker. Looks great. I have used the small p-touch type for years and the last forever.
The key words are laser and waterproof. It is fairly inexpensive to have them printed.
