Removing duplicates and listing synonyms is one of the first things I thought needed to be done for the plants I moderate (all pretty much done but the Eupatoriums). This change Dave is proposing should make the multiple names some plants have easier for people to understand and simpler to manage going forward. Perhaps less controversial as well?
