Right here in our small community, we didn't lose power but all around us is still without electricity. Our daughter and youngest grandchild(age 14)came over to borrow coolers from us. I thought they were going to bring their food to put in our freezer in the garage, but she cooked up a lot on their new grill. We called at least 25 stores to see if they were opened and if they had any bagged ice left..Most places never opened because they didn't have electricity or phone service. Parts of our community suffered a lot of damage, trees and even roof off several outdoor buildings, had copper roof on it and it threw it onto the lawn all twisted up like a piece of art or sculpture. Monday will be a hugh clean up day for the landscaping crew. Some worked today. Another storm is expected tonight..Hundreds of thousands are without power in Md. and Va. Only one of my flowerbeds had damage, the winds which were clocked at Dulles Airport in Va. at 71 mph flatten my coneflowers, gladiolas and larkspurs in one flowerbed by the living room window but didn't damage any of the other flowerbeds..I tried to get my daughter to come here and spend the night and she says they will make out ok.
