I was fine till yesterday and I realized the squirrels were dying, then I found the baby birds, too hot to even try to get away from me. That's when I started adding more water several times a day as well as more food for them. Not that I love squirrels so much but I can't just let them dehydrate right in front of me.

So I added more little areas with water. Then I shot the water hose straight up into my river birch and on one side of the maple where the mama cardinal and the squirrel were (once the squirrel revived and could climb the tree.) And the smoke tree and magnolia in back.

Of course when you stand beneath a tree and squirt water from a hose straight up . . . well, what goes up must come down. I think I loved it as much as the cardinals and the squirrels. Ha!!

Thinking about doing it again in the moonlight in a few minutes, seems like the clouds are floating away.

Yep, there's always a smile if we look for it.
