Hi, I just bought a Sempervivum from a local corner store in bloom. It is large (see photo) and has lovely blooms. I assume it is not hardy (I live in Eastern Canada zone 5a). I have seen similar ones growing in my sister's garden in LA (another clue that it is probably not hardy). However, reading the threads above, the more important question is whether I can assume that all blooming florets will die and that I should therefore take action to plant offshoots? Thank you for your response. I'm assuming it IS a sempervivum but I'm not sure which one.Thumb of 2012-07-10/mariavradford/a56756
