I don't recall if we ever discussed this or not. This is a feature that I've been playing with for some time and I've taken it off and put it back a couple times. At the moment it's up and I think it'll stay up for the time being. I think it's a great feature and I enjoy seeing it.

It's an entirely automated process.

If you're looking at a cultivar of a plant for which we have a forum (for example, daylilies or roses) then it will search only inside that forum for mentions of this cultivar. The threads it finds are then shown.

Otherwise, it searches all the forums looking for threads that mention the entire name (genus,species,cultivar) of the plant in question.
