Tibouchina grandiflora, also known as Large leaf Princess Flower. Propagation from softwood cuttings. Leaves have a fuzzy feel to them. The blooms are long lasting, but it only blooms once a year.....for me, that is. I bought it at Caldwell's Nursery in Rosenberg, TX (outside of Houston) years ago. Because the leaves looked so delicate, I kept it in a shaded location. It grew, but never bloomed. Decided to read up on it and found it liked the sun so I moved it to partial sun (full sun here is usually a killer), and it bloomed that year. I still keep it in a pot.
