Doris i am no expert but sounds to me like a few of mine. if you look at the base of the caudex does it look like Roberts? A lot of adeniums seeds are planted so shallow you can see the curve inward at the base, this is usually it has to be buried deeper due to none of the caudex is under ground and its just the roots that are holding it up. that is very stressful on the tiny roots. If this is not the case it sounds like it did not have the light it needed to grow short and strong if the plant dosnt have good light it stretches to reach the light and it becomes lanky. these are the 2 most common reasons that they don't like to stand with out a picture it is hard to tell. With both of these my recommendation is carefully sprinkle dirt around the plant 1/2 way up the caudex and be careful when watering it can up root and wash these little babies so fast best to sprites with a spray bottle or water from underneath.


these are the only reasons i can think about....just don't go re-potting when very small and dont feed it yet.most the time the 4th or 5th set of leaves are where you want to re-pot
