Thanks, everyone. It is one of my favorite shrubs. Gorgeous bright green foliage, with a mass of those magenta plumes in the winter. I cut it way back every spring and it does its thing again later on. Here is a picture of a mature shrub in full bloom.
It also seems to have no pests at all ever.
