To me they seem to be a lot like Great Expectations, I got some good advice on DG last year from a grower and she said make sure the crown is just above the soil level and make sure they get some sun. This time of year they all could use some fertilizer, it is growing season for Hosta roots. I am getting ready to spray all mine tomorrow with a good dose of Miracle Grow. Green Grin!
I know in the warmer zones, probably an hour or two would be fine. I planted sun tolerant Hostas out front this year and they only got morning sun, yet they all fried. Sad
