Slugs like wet conditions. We have NOT had wet! Everything is dry, drier, dryest! Some of the coleus have dried out and lost some leaves. But they grow new leaves and recover quickly. Not so with most of my other plants.

Worms like moist soil, too. In early spring, the uppermost layers of my soil are nice and moist and crawling with worms. Now, you can't find a drop of water anywhere but in the birdbath. And you'd have to dig deep to find worms.
