Hi Robert, I use rocks just for the bottom, and the top. There is actually soil in there.
Wilfred, I didn't keep digging yesterday; so I'll hang the plant back up again. I'm kind of bummed about the root part, since I've never tried to graft anything in my life. I'll look and see if I can cut off a piece from another of my adeniums, just to give it a try.
