Good advise Cinta. also my clivia leaves do yellow if they get too much sun. They like med-shade. I never had a pot bound issue. When I recently transplanted them, there was no soil left. All roots.
Dogpack, It's too bad we live so far apart. I would help put that new porch on for you. I built my porches myself and most of my house. Now I am disabled also but still get around a bit. At one time I needed a wheelchair but thank God my back improved enought to get me around now.
Opp, I don't know which variegated plant you are talking about. Right under the flag is a volunteer Painter's Plaque, It spruts for seed easily. Gets about 15 inches tall. I have to look up the real name. The far corner is a Euonymus japonicus variegated. It stays evergreen even in zone 5. maybe colder. Starts easily from stem cuttings under glass. I have a vine type green/white, and two bush types, one green/yellow and green/white.
