I soak all daylilies before planting. A week? Well, to be honest, I have been known to soak them for a month! Just changing the water.
Soaking after shipping when the roots get dried out is a very good idea.
I will also suggest flooding them with water - a bucket on each plant, when you first plant, up to 2 weeks to start those little white NEW roots growing. Those are the ones that will hunker the daylily down in YOUR garden.
That info is given to all who purchase daylilies from me from the garden or special sales.
Soak
Heavily water for 2 wks
Water normally after that.
Enjoy your new daylilies!
