It feels kinda wierd posting this in a daylily forum where the different colors and forms of the daylilies are the object of interest of so many.

My interest is edible landscaping. It sounds like a wonderful idea to include daylilies as an attractive, low-maintenance plant in my frontyard.

According to this guy who is an authority on edible plants in Florida:
http://www.eattheweeds.com/day...
the daylily hybrid cannot be counted on to be edible. To be safe he says to stay with the original daylily which is known by long experience to be okay.

Does anyone here know of a source of the original daylily? (Preferably ones well adapted to Tampa, Florida.)

Thank you for any help you can give.
