It is best to plant bulbs when the ground temp is below 60 degrees, but you are in zone 9b which is warm and I don't know what temp your ground is at bulb planting depth. I wait until Nov. to plant usually. I would leave them in the ground and hope for cool weather soon. However it is not uncommon to have bulbs start to send up foliage that breaks the ground if it gets warm in the fall or even in a winter thaw, and then when it gets cold again, they stop until spring. Muscari do send up fall foliage so that is normal, and they should flower for you in the spring. They are true troopers. Good luck Patti
