Bev, if I am not mistaken, the large, 11 lb bale was bought off of Amazon and was shipped from somewhere in the US, not New Zealand. Even then, I think 2/3 of the cost was moss and 1/3 shipping. If a site does not state country-of-origin, I contact the seller to see where the moss (and other materials as well) came from. I have never run across a seller that would not divulge where his product came from. Ken
