well my intentions are first i simply love lobelia and blue flowers are so pretty.

As for the creeping jenny i am looking for something i can plant & it will grow enough or far enough & wide enough to be a ground cover that will stand out, bloom & grow over roots etc...I need a good tough yet pretty of course ground cover.

The land around here back in the days of oh maybe horse & buggy?? Confused Rolling on the floor laughing was farm land and it's a slope & a pretty sharp one.I was told the farmers made terraces so everything wouldn't wash straight down the hill to the creek that winds around the bottom of the hill.We live at the steepest part of the slope which at our house honestly it's a hill.Anyway the first terrace is in our front yard,i have been trying to figure out how to work it into the landscaping without adding 10 tons of top soil between the house & the terrace to build it up flat.

I thought ground covers planted on the terrace may turn out to look good.I'm not using the same plant all the way down it.Trying to blend different sections in with the yard at that point.

I already have put Tradescantia pallida 'purple heart' on one part of the terrace, but it hasn't filled out good enough yet hopefully it will thicken up & spread more in time.I also have some Sedum sarmentosum 'gold moss' , stringy stonecrop.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated on good ground cover tat will grow in bad soil.Over the years the wind has blown the soil away the ground is hard and the rain just runs down it into the house.I can't plant anything where the yard is terraced off the highest, there's no soil left.

Invasive isn't as easy to achieve here!! *Blush* at least not on the terrace anyway!!!! Thumbs down
A green thumb comes only as a result of the mistakes you make while learning to see things from the plants point of view!!
