fixpix--it's a cruel world out there for a little seed unless you cultivate it. A lot goes on in nature that we don't see--sort of in the dark and behind our backs. If left to fall freely to the ground, birds and rodents will think you left them these tiny little morsels as a treat. If they fall on heavy turf--they don't have a chance. And often times a gardener will mistake a baby seeding as grass or a weed during the first year or two. Add to that, many lawn fertilizers contain weed killers which are harmfull to tender little seedlings. And, plants are like people when it comes to the weather extremes which will take its toll as well. I guess that's why in nature, a plant produces so many seeds--all in the hopes that a few survive!

That is, until someone like fixpix comes along and does them a big favor! Smiling
